Dr Joanna McKerrell

Dr McKerrell is a highly experienced General Practitioner with a career spanning over 16 years. She trained at Bart’s and The London School of Medicine, United Kingdom, qualifying as a doctor in 2003, and completed her GP training and MRCGP in 2008. Throughout her career, she has worked in diverse settings, including London, Cambridge, Norwich, Kenya, Peru and Perth, WA bringing a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her practice.

 

Dr McKerrell is passionate about holistic, compassionate, and patient-centred care and warmly welcomes consultations across a wide spectrum of general practice, ranging from paediatrics, chronic disease management, mental health, women’s health, family planning, and elderly care. With additional qualifications in family planning (DFFP), women’s health (DRCOG), and postgraduate medical education (PGCMedEd), she demonstrates a commitment to clinical excellence and medical education, as evidenced in her role as a GP trainer in England and her ongoing dedication to mentoring medical students throughout her career.  She has a particular proficiency in placing coils and implants, a skill she has honed over 15 years. 

 

Beyond medicine, Dr McKerrell is a devoted mother to two children and finds joy in the great outdoors. She enjoys cycling, walking, and spending time in the ocean. An avid reader and a talented oil painter, she balances her professional life with creative and active pursuits that fuel her energy and passion.
